2019 got off to an electrifying start through our collaboration with leading global brand experience agency Avantgarde. Together we created a stylish animation to capture all the anticipation and excitement of the new Formula E season.
The Brief
Avantgarde approached Velvet Badger to create video content to be played within Formula E World at each race event. Our challenge was to encapsulate the thrill of a race as seen, heard and felt by the driver, from flag to finish.
Having initially created a bespoke 3D style for the brand, we rigged two Formula E cars with cameras and filmed them racing around a circuit. This footage was married with a mix of x-particles and post-production effects to not only give a driver's-eye view of the race, but evoke the thrill and emotions through dramatic dynamic visualisations.
The energy and tension of the film was further enhanced by the soundtrack created by Silk Sound, adding another atmospheric dimension to bring the story of the race to life.
